Master Food Preserver Virtual Delivery Program Coordinator
Travis Robert Alexander joined UC ANR in May 2024 as the Virtual Delivery Program Coordinator for the UC Master Food Preserver Program. Travis holds a Ph.D. in Horticulture from Washington State University, research focused on orchard production factors in cider apples, and a M.S. in Horticulture from UC Davis, research focused on post-harvest processing factors in fresh market peaches. He has taught for four community colleges across the Pacific Northwest delivering a range of classes in the Life Sciences and Natural Sciences, teaching students in-person, hybrid, and fully remote. Travis grew up in San Diego County and in his new position will return to southern CA with his wife and son. He loves the hobby of garden railroading, and his favorite preserved foods are smoked salmon and pickled cucumbers.
