Inclusive & Equitable Society

We work within UC ANR’s goal to serve every California community and develop resources for extension professionals and stakeholders across California’s agriculture and food systems.

We:

Farmer kneeling in field
  • develop resources to address stakeholder priorities and identify gaps in access to UC ANR programs for communities who have not historically had access to extension services
  • work across the food supply chain with the goal of increasing economic opportunity, resilience, and quality of life for California farm and food business operators
  • support programs in county-based UC Cooperative Extension offices providing collaborative outreach, education, and technical assistance for niche and emerging specialty crops, culturally important foods, and local marketing and small business development

Farmworker & Food Worker Well-being

We are working to promote a more socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable food system in California. From 2013-2017, UC SAREP collaborated on research evaluating farmworker time and activity in caneberry and broccoli production and provided recommendations for future research to improve the quality of life of California farmworkers. These projects are archived below.
