Event Date
Agritourism can provide exciting attractions, public education, and added income to farms and ranches. Animals can be an entertaining part of the tour, and it also offers a great opportunity to sell farm-fresh products and secure new long-term customers. However, including animals in your agritourism operations comes with challenges, as there can be health risks to animals and people. Animals are at risk from potential disease brought onto the farm by visitors, while visitors are at risk from exposure to pathogens.
This webinar will provide an introduction to biosecurity, best practices for visitor interactions with animals to mitigate and prevent risks, and on-the-ground insights from an experienced operator.
