Docks to Delta

Event Date

Location
Capitol Corridor Train- Oakland, CA

The Agricultural Sustainability Institute is teaming up with the California Institute for Rural Studies to bring stories of California agricultural history to life. Docks to Delta will amplify the voices of people who lived through and participated in key moments in California agriculture, highlighting stories that push listeners’ thinking beyond the usual historical narratives and policy debates.

Guests will board the Capitol Corridor train at Jack London Square in Oakland and will hear untold histories of California farming as they ride round-trip to Sacramento and back. Along the way to Sacramento, you'll hear 3 stories about California farming history in a thought-provoking, two-hour program and then you'll enjoy food, drink, beautiful vistas and conversation with one another and the storytellers on the return trip to Oakland. The views will be stunning, the train car will be comfortable, the company will be good and the stories will be lively!

After the event, Docks to Delta stories will be released as a podcast series accessible to anyone. Jump on board to hear these stories first!

Docks to Delta is sold out! Visit the project to learn about future events. Soon, podcasts to accompany the event will be available online.
