Lyra Halprin is the senior public information representative at the statewide University of California Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education Program (UC SAREP), which is housed at the UC Davis campus. She helps the program communicate information about agricultural sustainability by publicizing UC SAREP-funded or collaborative projects and activities in news releases, a quarterly newsletter Sustainable Agriculture, on the Web site, or via other electronic distribution systems. She also coordinates the outreach and dissemination of research results for the UC Davis Sustainable Agriculture Farming Systems (SAFS) project, for which she edits a quarterly newsletter, trade journal articles, and organizes an annual field day. A graduate of UC Davis, she has a Masters of Journalism degree from UC Berkeley. She is an alumna of the California Agricultural Leadership Program.
