About Russell Ranch
The Russell Ranch Sustainable Agriculture Facility, located on three hundred acres at UC Davis, hosts the Century Experiment, Long Term Research on Agricultural Systems (LTRAS). LTRAS is the "hundred-year" flagship study located on the main plots at Russell Ranch called the Century Experiment (read more about it here). The LTRAS study was initiated in 1993 and has been studying the effect of different cropping systems on sustainability for the last twenty years. The variety of research areas at Russell Ranch can be viewed at the Russell Ranch Road Map.
The Sustainable Agriculture Farming Systems (SAFS) project combined with LTRAS in 2002 to continue research on impacts of farming systems and reduced tillage practices on agronomic and soil properties, runoff and economics.
