A Round-table Discussion When: 3-4:30 pm, Monday, May 23, 2011 Where: 140 Robbins Hall, UC Davis Free and open to the public. Scott Kirby is the farms manager at Harper Adams University College, the UK’s largest centre of higher education for the land based sector. Scott operates 1700 acres of commercial farming enterprises, including diverse animal, crops, forage, biomass crops, and renewable energy from anaerobic digestion which makes the University almost self-sufficient in energy and 3.5 times carbon neutral. Scott is a Nuffield Farming Scholar and is studying what a sustainable agriculture sector will look like 20 to 30 years in the future (as affected by a growing population, food production and distribution, limited resources, and climate change).
