Food hubs and value-based supply chains, plenary session at EcoFarm Conference
Asilomar in Pacific Grove, CA
There is growing excitement and interest about food hubs and values-based supply chains. These new and emerging food distribution enterprises and networks carry values from field to fork, provide greater producer access to wholesale markets, and create equitable, transparent relationships with farmers and ranchers. What are we learning about how to make these enterprises and supply chains return fair prices to producers while remaining economically viable? This panel will feature speakers from throughout the supply chain, highlighting research, opportunities and barriers for farmers and ranchers in this new area.
This session, hosted in part by Gail Feenstra of UC SAREP, is open to those registered for the EcoFarm Conference, being help February 1-4 in Pacific Grove, CA. For more information about EcoFarm and a full conference schedule, visit their website.
